Broken rubble cascades from the tower. Mere minutes after detonation, dust permeates the air and clogs every human lung. Even the Valkyries feel like they can barely breathe.
"Fuck," Dana mutters.
His colleagues don't even hum.
Miyu pulls a carton of cigarettes from her blazer. Nakamura whips out his lighter.
"How long 'til the Principalities see this?" Dana asks.
"Oh, they know already," Kevin speaks up, "We should definitely be leaving."
Dana sighs, "Well, it was a nice business trip. Hopefully we can meet up some other time."
"Un," Miyu hums as Nakamura lights her cigarette.
"It might be impossible," Nakamura grabs a stick for himself, "But let's ask Samael to arrange something."
"Will do," Kevin says with a slight bow, "See you, then."
Nakamura nods before slipping through the manifold, Miyu following close behind. Dana and Kevin then turn around and cross their own side of the manifold to return home. In just a couple seconds, they're back on the other side of the world.
"Yo!" Alex's voice strains. She's arm wrestling Malik, and is an inch away from winning.
"You get me... a souvenir?" she asks.
"Ah, damn," Dana clicks his tongue, "I knew we were forgetting something."
